ARE YOU A HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL?

ARE YOU A PRIVATE PERSON?

To access the coping tools, you need an access code. If your healthcare service does not offer Assisted Self-Help, it is possible to purchase access directly as a private individual.

We point out that the effect is best for most people when the coping tools are reviewed in combination with follow-up from professionals.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I want access myself:
Assisted Self-Help is not interested in personal information and, we therefore use unique codes for login. Most people who use Assisted Self-Help receive such a code from a health care service / organization, though it is also possible to buy access via the website as a private individual.

My health care service is considering to offer Assisted Self-Help: Health care services can purchase various bundles of coping tools. Employees of the organization will get access to a website, where they are able to easily create access codes for the tools, as well as follow the development along the way, giving that the user allows this.

It does not require
any software installation or integration into other systems, in order to get started. All you need is internet access.

When going through one of our tools, you arrive at the homepage of AssistedSelfHelp.comBy entering the access code in the code field and pressing «OK», you get access to the content of the coping tool the person who is to follow you up thought was most suitable for you.

It does not require any software installation or integration with other systems to use our tools.

The most common way to obtain an access code is via health care services that purchase bundles with access, offering them to their users.

Otherwise you may also as an individual private user buy access to our self help tools.

To access the tools, you need an access code. Most people who use Assisted Self-Help get access as part of an offer in an organization/ health service who purchase larger bundles. In this manner, many people are able to get a code for free when they turn to public low-threshold services in Norway such as rapid mental health care, GPs or other mental health services. If your municipality or health service does not offer Assisted Self-help, it is possible to purchase personal access yourself. We would however like to point out that the majority of users experience a greater effect when the tools are used with guidance of healthcare professionals

These online tools contain exercises, assignments and information from evidence-based methods such as cognitive therapy, metacognitive therapy and ACT. Each of the tools consists of 6 parts, with short assessments before and after completing the coping tool. By completing the assessments, you may on your own follow the progression of how you feel, every time you log in.

The tools for Anxiety, Depression and Sleep Difficulties have been created by two Norwegian psychologists, Aksel Inge Sinding and Oskar Blakstad. Parts of the tools are based on workbooks made by Molde Municipality, which we have been allowed to use.

Psychologists Oskar Blakstad and Aksel Sinding have developed and quality assured Self-Esteem.

Psychologist Oskar Blakstad has developed and quality assured Perfectionism

Psychologists Øyvind Halsøy and Oskar Blakstad have developed and quality assured Exposure.

Back to work was created and developed by Psychologist Thomas Tobro Wøien.

Psychiatrist Ingvard Wilhelmsen has developed Helseangst. The tool is quality assured by RPH Namsos Municipality and RPH Molde Municipality.

Psychologist Anne Hilde Vassbø Hagen and psychologist specialist Jan Reider Stiegler have created Understand Emotions and Change Emotions.

The coping tools have been reviewed by a number of mental health care professionals, and are continuously being revised when we are made aware of errors or other shortcomings.

In short, Assisted Self-Help does not store any information that may identify the user of the coping tools. This is why unique codes are used to gain access. However, there are two specific situations where it is relevant to discuss privacy:

1. Do you receive follow-up from a professional or supervisor? Many organizations, (not all), store the code along with information that identifies the person using the code in their systems. This is due to the health care professionals of the organization having access to an overview of codes they have issued. Provided that you give them access, the professional can see what you are working on along the way, and in this manner have a better opportunity to improve follow-up. You can anonymise by revoking the access and changing the access code. This can be done at any time under "settings" after login. Learn more here

2. Are you buying access as a private individual? The bank card used is anonymised in the purchase solution (Stripe.com). It is optional to receive a receipt, but if you need this, both Assistant Self-Help and Stripe must obtain your email in order to issue a receipt. Assisted Self-Help stores personal information when necessary to provide documentation of purchases, and deletes them as soon as possible. Learn more here

Here you can read our privacy statement.

You can safely use Assisted Self-Help. We do not store information that could identify a person using the coping tools. Login takes place with a unique and random code consisting of numbers and letters, and you are never asked to do tasks that could lead to the registration of personal information.

You are anonymous as long as nobody are able to connect your access code to personal information about you, but please note the following:
In the case of private purchases via the website, you will be completely anonymous, provided that you do not need a receipt.

If you have received the code from an organization / health care service, they may have routines for storing the code in their systems to give you the best possible follow-up. There will be strict laws governing access to these systems (which can be a patient record, for example). As long as the connection to personal information is possible, what is stored with Assisted Self-Help will still be considered "pseudonymous personal information", because health care professionals depend on additional protected information to find out who uses the code. If you do not give the organization access to what you register at the first login and if you change the code, you will be anonymous. You can also be anonymised at a later point, e.g when follow-up is completed.
