Who is it suitable for?

Social anxiety is both distressing and common. For some, the anxiety becomes so severe that it interferes with everyday life, and appears in situations where it is not helpful. This tool contains exercises, tasks and information that will help you cope with your anxiety in a better way.

What does the coping tool contain?

The tool gives you knowledge and support to understand, challenge and live more freely with social anxiety. It consists of six parts:

  1. Social anxiety
A tool for those struggling with social anxiety, such as fear of looking stupid, being judged, or being the center of attention. The tool provides support to understand and challenge social situations through cognitive therapy and exposure.
  2. Cognitive therapy
You will be helped to understand the interaction between thoughts, feelings, body and behavior, and learn to recognize your own patterns. The cognitive model of social anxiety gives you a concrete framework for reflection and change.
  3. Exposure
You will learn how to gradually face your fears – without safety strategies – so that you gain new experience and your anxiety level decreases over time. You will be supported in choosing the method, pace and adaptation that suits you.
  4. Preparation
You map out what triggers anxiety, what situations you avoid, and how you can plan good exposure exercises. The goal is not to wait to feel ready, but to start with a conscious and realistic starting point.
  5. Implement
You will be helped to practice exposure, deal with common challenges, and use journaling and reflection to get the most out of the exercises. The goal is more freedom – not total absence of anxiety.
  6. Prevention
You summarize what you have learned, acknowledge the efforts you have made, and create a plan to meet future challenges with greater confidence and resilience.

The course gives me room to reflect on the "complex" that I have not previously done. Now it is beginning and I am well on my way in the right direction. Many thanks for the great help and a tool for the rest of my life!!!"«
