Who is it suitable for?

This tool is suitable for those who have a chronic illness and experience difficult thoughts and feelings related to the illness. It focuses on both theory and practical exercises, tasks and information that psychologists use in treatment when meeting people with chronic illnesses.

What does the coping tool contain?

The tool provides you with support and tools to manage everyday life with a chronic illness – both physically and mentally. It consists of six parts:

  1. Introduction
You will learn how chronic illness affects both body and mind, and how factors such as independence, belonging, and good routines provide the basis for better balance and coping.
  2. Thoughts and feelings
You explore how difficult emotions and destructive thought patterns can make life with illness harder – and how awareness and acceptance can make it easier to live well with what is.
  3. Techniques
You will learn cognitive methods to sort and challenge thoughts that increase suffering. You will work with The Cognitive Diamond and learn to distinguish between negative B-thoughts and more balanced D-thoughts.
  4. Self-care
You work on meeting yourself with compassion, dealing with self-criticism and accepting support from others. You learn to express needs clearly – and to care for yourself during demanding periods.
  5. Mastery
You will receive tools to strengthen your inner motivation and practice presence through mindfulness. This provides a better foundation for stress management, focus, and self-care in everyday life.
  6. Summary
You look back on what you've learned and create a plan to meet future challenges. The tool helps you maintain good habits and get support when you need it - even on tough days.

It was very clear and easy to understand. Nice variation between reading, seeing/hearing and doing.»

«"Very good clarification regarding the type of anxiety one has, this was very well described. I used to think I had panic disorder, but I have learned that it is social anxiety."»

«"It was so GOOD to sit and read! I didn't feel so weird anymore, the online course normalized me.".

«"Liked that it's educational, in a way that makes the basic knowledge behind anxiety easy to understand. Also like the warm words along the way."»

«"An understanding of how the "whole" is connected. A tool for help. I think it all worked very well, and I am very happy with the knowledge I have gained from it. The course gives me room to reflect on the "complex" that I have not previously done. Now it is beginning and I am well on my way in the right direction. Many thanks for the great help and a tool for the rest of my life!!!"«

«"Liked that it was explained simply. Enjoyed watching the videos."»
