What does the coping tool contain?

The tool provides you with knowledge and exercises to understand, manage and prevent depression. It consists of six parts:

  1. Depression
An introduction to how depression affects thoughts and activity, and how cognitive therapy, physical activity, and taking care of basic needs can contribute to recovery.
  2. Signs and patterns
You will learn to recognize depressive thought patterns and use behavioral activation to create more meaning, joy, and structure in your everyday life.
  3. Cognitive therapy
You will be helped to see the connection between thoughts, feelings, body and action – through models such as ABC and the cognitive diamond.
  4. Thoughts and self-compassion
You practice discovering and challenging thought traps, and learn how self-compassion can strengthen resilience during difficult times.
  5. Concerns
Focus on how rumination and worry maintain stress and depression – and how you can deal with this with specific strategies and tools such as reflection time and acceptance.
  6. Prevention
You look back on what you have learned, create a plan to take care of yourself going forward, and gain access to a tool bank for further support and development.
