Schedule positive activities. Do something you enjoy every day – even if you have to force yourself at first. If nothing seems pleasurable, think back to what you used to love doing before. Did you have fun at the movies? Did you often visit with friends? Read books? Create with your hands? Exercise? Spend time in nature? Play bowling?
As the popular expression goes – “Fake it until you make it.” In this case, it means that at first you might need to force yourself into being active, but soon enough you will start to feel better and will, once again, find joy in your favorite pastimes. Eventually you will reap the rewards, even if engaging in activities may seem strenuous or meaningless at first.
