Who is it suitable for?

A tool for those who have phobias, such as fear of animals, heights, blood or specific situations. The tool focuses on gradual exposure, which research shows is very effective in overcoming phobias.

What does the coping tool contain?

The tool gives you insight and concrete tools to understand and work with phobic anxiety. It consists of six parts:

  1. Phobia
You will learn how anxiety works, and how phobias arise as a reaction to harmless but misinterpreted situations. By facing your fears without safety strategies, you can gradually reduce your anxiety.
  2. Cognitive therapy
You gain insight into the interaction between thoughts, emotions, body and behavior. Through the cognitive diamond, you learn to recognize your own patterns and how to challenge them with greater confidence.
  3. Exposure
You learn to face what you usually avoid – without using avoidance strategies. Exposure gives the brain the opportunity to experience that the feared thing is not dangerous. You are supported in finding the right method and pace.
  4. Preparation
You will identify what triggers your anxiety and how you usually react. You will create a realistic plan for exposure, and you will receive help to prepare yourself in a sustainable and safe way.
  5. Implement
You carry out exposure in practice – repeatedly and with reflection along the way. The goal is not to get rid of all anxiety, but to take back the freedom to do what is important to you.
  6. Prevention
You summarize what you have learned and create a plan for how to maintain progress and deal with setbacks. You practice useful skills even in good times – for lasting change.

The course gives me room to reflect on the "complex" that I have not previously done. Now it is beginning and I am well on my way in the right direction.
